Thank you for your interest in serving on our Board of Directors! We’re not currently recruiting new board members, but you can always submit an application and we’ll keep it on file for next time we have an opening.

BMWF’s Board is responsible for the oversight and governance of our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This is an important way you can help shape the future of the foundation, and give back to wilderness by sustaining our boots-on-the-ground programs in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.

As an organization we have made a commitment to filling our community, our board and our staff with new voices, wide-ranging ideas and a wealth of different perspectives. Please see our Commitment to an Inclusive Outdoors to learn more. We’re excited to hear what your voice can bring to the organization!

Other key details:

  • All Board of Directors positions are unpaid, volunteer positions

  • Board member positions require a time commitment of 4-8 hours per month

  • A three-year commitment is expected to allow you to gain enough knowledge and experience to meaningfully contribute to the organization.

  • Virtual participation is possible, so it is not necessary to live in NW Montana to become a board member

Please review the position description and contact us if you’re interested in learning more. If you would like to submit an application for an open board position, please complete the form below. If you prefer to print and mail the application, download it here.

We are always accepting applications. If we do not have any current vacancies, we will keep your application and contact you when we have an opening. Find a list of our current board members here.
